The Valley of the Kings is east of Fresno California. It's about 1300km south of my Dad's house in Porltand Oregon. We drove there. The hollow part is common for giant redwoods; I think because fire burns most of a tree but it grows back. It is all one tree. You can read more about it, or in Japanese [セコイア]
